Review – Tommee Tippee Baby Food Steamer Blender

This week I have decided to do a review.
I am going to give you my honest opinions on the Tommee Tippee Baby Food Steamer Blender.

I have used the Tommee Tippee Perfect Prep Machine pretty much since Immy came out of hospital. I swear by it for ease and convenience. Because of this we decided to buy the Steamer and Blender. I knew I wanted to make Immy’s meals myself. I have nothing against ready made baby food but I decided not to go down that route. Don’t get me wrong on the occasion I may use one when out and about all day but on the whole I am making Immy’s food myself.

We went to Mothercare for general weaning equipment and saw that there was discount on these machines. So we bought it there and then and I couldn’t wait to get home and use it!

When we purchased the item, it included: The machine itself, steaming/blending jug, two tommee tippee food storage containers, spatula, instructions and weaning and recipe guide.

Features –

On and Off button – very clear and self explanatory
Lock in water tank and cap – Adding 450ml of  fresh water each time you steam through this whole and using the cap to secure.
Locking Dial for Jug – once you have put your ingredients in and placed the jug in the machine, you lock in with the dial above.
Steam Button & Blend Button – You press steam first and add the amount of time you wish to steam for. Following this you select the blend option and enter the time period for blending.

Strengths –

I find it really simple to use and the instructions are very easy to follow.
You can use the machine through every step of weaning, as explained in the guide you get with the machine.
Blends very efficiently.
Weaning guide very useful.
Quick and easy to clean afterwards.
Looks nice on kitchen worktop.

Weaknesses –

The unit can become hot after use.
Screen is fairly small when entering times.
Changing the water between each use can be fiddly.

Recommendations –

I recommend when using the machine to have further out on worktop surface as a lot of steam comes out the back.
Blending can be loud, which is expected as blenders are loud but not to do in close proximity to a sleeping baby!
Read through the weaning recipe provided. I found it really useful and informative. It is also where you can find appropriate steaming and blending times according to ingredients and stage of weaning.

This post is in no way affiliated with Tommee Tippee. I just thought I would share one of my favourite, must have (in my eyes) baby gadgets.
Let me know if you found this interesting and useful.
